At El Rincon de Maria, we have always believed that dressing children is about more than choosing a beautiful outfit. It is about the little details — the collar, the socks, the tights and, of course, the shoes that bring everything together.

That idea is at the heart of Cinq Lapins, our own collection of timeless children's shoes and accessories.

Why We Created Cinq Lapins

After years of selecting children's clothing from some of our favorite European brands, we found ourselves looking for shoes that could effortlessly accompany the pieces hanging in our store.

We wanted classic silhouettes. Beautiful seasonal colors. Shoes that could work with the traditional European children's clothing we love, but that were also practical enough for the way children actually dress and live.

Most importantly, we wanted to be able to choose the details ourselves.

And so, Cinq Lapins was born.

The name means "Five Bunnies" in French, a little nod to the five children behind our story and the five dots that have become part of the Cinq Lapins identity.

Made in Spain, With Tradition Behind Every Pair

Our Cinq Lapins shoes are made in Spain by traditional shoemakers with more than 60 years of experience.

Spain has a long history of children's shoemaking, and that heritage was important to us when developing the collection.

Rather than chasing trends, we focus on the silhouettes that return to children's wardrobes generation after generation: Mary Janes, T-straps, classic lace-up shoes, crib shoes and easy everyday styles.

They are the kinds of shoes we want to see in photographs years from now and still love.

Designed to Work With Their Wardrobe

One of our favorite parts of creating Cinq Lapins is choosing the colors.

Our shoe collections are developed alongside the clothing arriving at El Rincon de Maria, allowing us to select shades and textures that coordinate beautifully with the season.

For Autumn, that means rich navy, burgundy, soft pinks, warm neutrals, brown, grey and other timeless shades that pair easily with traditional children's clothing.

You will find soft velvet Mary Janes for dressier moments, classic shoes for everyday outfits and versatile styles that can move from a family photograph to a birthday, Sunday lunch or simply a beautifully dressed day.

Because children's shoes should never feel like an afterthought.

And Then Come the Socks & Tights

Of course, we couldn't stop at shoes.

Finding the right sock or tight can completely change an outfit, which is why Cinq Lapins has grown to include a carefully selected collection of children's socks and tights as well.

Knee socks, ankle socks, ribbed styles, perle socks, delicate bows and classic tights allow us to play with color while finishing a look from head to toe.

Sometimes we match the shoe.

Sometimes we match the outfit.

And sometimes the sock is the little unexpected detail that makes everything work.

For Autumn, we especially love layering our Mary Janes with knee socks and tights as an easy way to transition favorite dresses and sets into cooler weather.

Shoes for the Little Moments — and the Big Ones

We don't believe beautiful children's shoes need to wait for a special occasion.

Some pairs will make their way into birthday photographs, baptisms, holidays and family celebrations. Others will be worn to school, to lunch with grandparents or on an ordinary Saturday afternoon.

Those everyday moments are part of childhood, too.

That is why our goal with Cinq Lapins has always been simple: to create and curate timeless little luxuries for childhood— pieces that feel special without needing a special reason to wear them.

Finding the Right Cinq Lapins Size

Children's shoe sizing can vary between brands, particularly when shopping between European and American sizes.

Our Cinq Lapins shoes use European sizing, and we always recommend checking the measurements and size information included on the individual product page before ordering rather than relying only on an age or US size conversion.

For our canvas styles, we recommend allowing approximately 0.8 to 1.2 cm of additional space beyond the child's foot measurement. If your child falls between sizes, sizing up is generally the better choice.

Taking a quick foot measurement before ordering can make all the difference in finding the right fit.
